Current Music 

  • Sligo Baroque Ensemble visits the school for a performance on 24/9/2019
  • Music Generation in school Winter 2019:
    The children in the junior classroom are enjoying 14 weeks of a music exploration course with Music Generation Sligo with cello player Anna Houston. This started in mid Sep 2019. The junior classroom also completed another programme in the 2018/19 &  2017/18 school year.
  • Tin Whistle Classes
    All classes from 2nd to 6th are participating in weekly tin-whistle classes with June McCormack, our principal, who is an accomplished traditional Irish musician.
  • School Musical Dec 2019-We staged our 2019 musical ‘What’s the Crime Mr Wolf’ on Tue Dec 17th  in Cliffoney Hall.
  • Singing-In January 2019, children from 3rd to 6th classes participated in a 14 week music appreciation course with Music Generation.

We staged our 2019/20 Musical in December and had a wonderful performance in Cliffoney Hall in mid December. All classes enjoyed participating in this musical.

School Musicals

We do a school musical on an annual basis, in time for Christmas. Children spend the months of November and December preparing for this, learning songs, learning our lines, learning how to act and dance.

Our junior classroom teacher Clodagh Finnegan directs our musicals and is a very talented drama teacher.​

Tin-Whistle Performance

Children from the senior room have been learning the tin-whistle in class since September. They recently performed this polka at our concert in December.
