We here in Carns National School were delighted and extremely proud this week that our past pupil and Olympic bronze medal winner MonaMcSharry was honoured at a special ceremony held at County Hall, by being awarded the 'Freedom of County Sligo', the county's highest civic honour.
Mona, one of Ireland's most talented National swimmers, is an inspiration and a role model for all our pupils. She has achieved unbelievable success on the world stage. Her hard work, determination, resilience and positivity knows no bounds and everyone in Carns NS wish her every success in her upcoming and future competitions.
We look forward to welcoming Mona back to Carns NS next time she returns home.
